Red Consultancy has taken some footballing greats back to grassroots level to launch this year’s 2017 FA Community Awards, presented by McDoanld’s.
World Cup Winner Sir Geoff Hurst, Tottenham and England Defender Kyle Walker, Arsenal hero Martin Keown, England Disability captain Jack Rutter and Liverpool Ladies player Casey Stoney all took roles at Wandgas FC in Surrey for the day to showcase the vital work of football volunteers across the UK that the FA Community Awards recognises.
Red co-ordinated all aspects of the event including media interviews with the ambassadors and managing a production crew to capture the event on film for use across social channels.
This was the first of several club visits by McDonald’s ambassadors, which also saw Head of Welsh Football Ryan Giggs travel to Fishguard FC in West Wales to volunteer as a coach for the day and Head of Scottish Football Kenny Dalglish visit Stirling All Stars to see the growth of disability football in the region.
Nominations for the 2017 FA Community Awards are now open. To vote for a football volunteer, coach, club or league go to www.mcdonalds.co.uk/awards.
